Hey everyone! Very quick post today, just wanted to explain our absence from the blogging world lately. Remember my skin infections? Well, Robin started to get them too. And I'm starting to get them again, but not as bad as before.

We're itching all over! Right now, we have to wear our lampshades and we're not allowed in the yard because it's dirty and will make the infections worse. Plus, nothing's been going on lately, so there's not much to blog about. We will visit all your blogs very soon, okay?

So I er, 'fell' in the pond today.. Hehe.. I used to be very scared of that pond because on my first play time when I was a curious little bugger, I fell into the pond and eh, nearly drowned and it took me a looong time to come near it again. I decided to take a dip in it today and hmm, it's not as scary as I remember.

Unfortunately, I just had my bath the day before, so the hoomans are not very happy with me. Woof woof. I am sorry, I won't do it again! ( cross paws ;) )

Morning Ritual

At 7 o'clock this morning, Adik woke me up from my beauty sleep to watch the sunrise. Sort of. The sun has rised already, actually, but only halfway. The reason being that she was going through her photo gallery and noticed that Nala has way more pictures than I do and so she wants to take new pictures of me with a nice, natural lighting.

But I refused to get up. I don't actually like walkies that much. Unless some of my friends come along but because I'm nice, I went with her..

I was actually supposed to lie down on this bench, but I told her I ain't doing anything for you! It's good enough I agreed to go with you!

Instead, I enjoyed the view of the sun coming up and meditating while doing so.. Ohmm..

I met my friend, Coco the Cocker Spaniel..

Look, she didn't want to leave me!

After a little play time with Coco, I went to see my buddy Mike the Lab..

He didn't go out for a walk, so our meeting was pretty brief..

Since she lets me see my friends, I agreed to stop for a couple of shots, but only a couple!

After a little off-leash healing exercise with her (i know, torture!) we were gonna go home when we saw somedoggy and his hooman in the distance.. Hmm, who is it?

I haven't seen him since he injured his dew claw and had it taken out. It was good to see him again! I'd say he's looking pretty good..

Hey everyone, this is 'Adik' taking over for today. My name is actually Aqyla, but 'Adik' is what they call me in the family and what the dogs somehow recognize me as. Hahaha. It actually means 'little sister' in Malay.

Anyway, turns out it wasn't a burn mark after all. It's this bacterial skin infection called 'I-can't-remember-what' something starts with Moisture but anyway, this morning when I gave the dogs breakfast, I noticed that ants, yes, the insects, was eating her pus. It was a lot worse than last night, so we rushed her to the vet. They had to shave almost half of her body, and it was bleeding and all the gross things you don't want to know.

She was whimpering, shaking, poor girl. The hair in her belly that was shaved off when she was spayed hasn't even fully grown yet and now she's shaved again :( There was actually 5 spots and not 3, and the doctor said that if we didn't take care of it, flies would come lay eggs there and there will be maggots in her body. Horrifying, I know.

Unfortunately, my family is gonna be away for 4 days and there's no one to take care of her, so she's now boarding in the hospital, probably whining away. Wish I could stay with her..

Good news is, it's not a very critical infection, so in about 10 days, it should be gone. They'll update as Nala & Robin as soon as we get back and thank you all for your concerns :)

What's Wrong With Nala?

Today, while I was having my dinner, Adik absent-mindedly checked my body for any hot spots or things like that. She didn't exactly thought she'd find anything. But this is what she found on me..

Can you see the three little pink spots? This is what one of them looks like up close.

Adik said it looks like a burn mark but she has no idea how I got it. My skin is dry, scaly and has some sort of sticky fluid on it. Her godmother rescued a cat once that was poured with hot water all over it's body and it's skin looks and feels like those pink spots on me, so she highly suspects that it's a burn mark.

The hoomans thinks I got it from the car exhaust because I have this habit of sleeping under the cars or in the worst case, somebody poured hot water on me, because we have very cuckoo neighbors who basically hates us dogs.

Anyway, the hoomans called our Vet and since it's was late, the doctor told them to just put a cold towel on the marks to soothe it and bring me to the vet first thing tomorrow. It's quite painful when they put the towel on me, but it's cooling.

They are worried because tomorrow, they are going back to Mommy's hometown about 2 hours away to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr (a muslim celebration that marks the end of Ramadhan) and won't be back for a few days. Plus, my kitty sister is not well and Robin is also having hotspots.

Hopefully, my condition's not so bad and I would be okay staying home with the maids. Cross your paws!

Hey guys! Robin here.. Nala is busy begging for food, so I'm gonna blog for the both of us because I'm not really into the whole begging thing. I prefer to just steal em' when the hoomans are not looking. Kekeke..

Everybody is so lazy to help me blog these days and plus, there's nothing much going on. Although, my crazy hooman sister is currently obsessed with dressing me up in drag!

She actually even put a bikini on me, but no chance in hell will you see it!

Almost Gone..

Yes, we nearly went missing this evening.

We had painters at our house this afternoon to repaint the house. And when they left, the stoopid stoppid maid left the door OPEN!! Obviously, we're never allowed out of the house without the hoomans, so when we see the gate open, we assume they're letting us out.

Can't blame us either, I mean, we're dogs after all! We're always looking for some adventure. And well, that open gate screamed ADVENTURE!!! Oh, the hoomans went ballistic. Adik went out in her bright pink and blue jammies, in tears, screaming our names and searching frantically for us. The neighbors looked at her like she was crazy! Luckily, she found us at the field near our house where we were taking a mud bath. Hihihihi :D

She was sooper relieved, but is it bad for me to say we were kinda disappointed? Heeee! Oh come ON!! You gotta admit, you can't say no to a good mud bath, right? And there was a whole field full of it! But like any of you guys when you see your hooman, we were excited to see her and jumped at her for a hug!!

Well, the maid has done it this time. Mommy and Daddy and our sisters are furious!! I think she might get fired for this..

Oh well! At least we're safe now! Gosh, can you imagine if we really did went missing?

Rest In Peace, Coco

We are sad to say this but our dear hamster sister, Coco had left us this morning to go over the Rainbow Bridge.

Coco was Adik's beloved hamster. She really wanted one and so her best friend got her Coco for her birthday. She was a very very cute little black and white furball with the biggest eyes in the world!

Coco was a very energetic and fearless hamster. She and our kitty sisters Duchess and Duke were really close. Especially Duchess. Everyday Duchess would just look after Coco and when they had play times, they played like sisters. I think she was her best friend. Poor cat started meowing to Adik and searching frantically for her friend when she saw that Coco's cage was missing.

Adik is quite devastated because Coco didn't live for very long. (She was three months old) But at least she had a good life. She's glad too that Coco died peacefully in her sleep instead of in other disasters.

Coco was laid to rest just outside our house.

Run free over at the rainbow bridge, Coco.. We love you so much and we miss you!

Dogathon 2009!

What a day we had!

Oh yeah, what a day! You didn't move a single paw! I was the one participating in games!

I did meet a lot of new friends and had a fan base, you know..

SOOO! Today was Dogathon 2009! Minus the heat and the constant delay for the games, it was pretty awesome..

The hoomans woke us up at 6.30 in the morning and packed our stuff, put us in the car and we drove in the crack of dawn to University Putra Malaysia.

Where are we going??

NOO! I need my beauty sleep!

Okay, funny story. Our hoomans bought Mc'Donalds for themselves and they put it in a space near the gear box. And when we arrived, Robin tried to get to the front seat and ended up stepping on the chicken porridge and their drink, making a huuuugggeee mess in the car!

We registered straight away once we've arrived and Nala signed up for everything while I was told,

You're so fat and useless, so no need for you to join. Just embarrass yourself!

Aww, man. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it anyway. A lot of running was required for all the games, so that's a big 'NO THANK YOU' for me..

As usual, a whole lot of butt-sniffing was going on. We made so many new friends there!

These two GR's reminds us of our friends, Paco & Milo. Well, their coat colors, at least.

First up was the Carnival Dog Race! Adik and I did not train for this event because she knows I'm an Energizer Bunny who doesn't have the word 'tired' in my dogcabulary. SHE however, only trained for a couple of days. She used to be good at these running things. She was in a marching band and cheerleading team, and she was required to run for like 45 minutes non-stop every single day so she was used to it. However, she quit both marching band and cheerleading this year, so she gained a few spare tires and lost a whole amount of energy.

Since I am a very very good girl, I hardly pulled her at all and did not stop once for any businesses whatsoever. Didn't even say hello to any other dogs so 'GO ME!' :D

Obviously, we didn't win, but Adik was very proud of me for not being a pain in the butt. And when she's happy, I'm happy. I came back to where Along and Robin were seated under a shade and Amber's puppies, River, Megan and Lara and their hooman were there.

Oooooh they are sooper cute and well behaved for little puppies. Most puppies we met just go psycho and start jumping here and there..

We went around after that and said Hi to a ~~few~~ lot of doggies and we met our friend Pluto

there as well. He sure is tall!

The next game was called Fastest-Eating Duo. Our hoomans thought that I would have no problem in this game because I always gobble up everything I see without hardly even sniffing them first but you see, I don't like eating at a place I'm not very familiar with because I'm rather territorial, so I just stood there, my bowl untouched, instead, staring at the biscuits Adik was trying her best to finish and even tried to grab some.

Hehehehehe. Her food, I don't mind ;)

While Nala was participating in all these games, I was having a ball sleeping!! And having people take pictures of me. BOL!

Puppy 'Tummy Side Up' anyone?

Afterwards was a game called Fixing Mr Clown

and whoooo, this one was completely Adik's fault. All I had to do was run beside her and wait for her to hang part of a clown's face around my neck and run with her to 'fix' the clown's face. I did the exact thing and even down-stayed like the good girl I am while she rummaged through a box looking for the clown's facial part.

Very useless, I tell you. I need to train her harder.

The next and the last game we played was called Doggy-Go-Round and this time, it was team work. I healed on her left side nicely and when the music stops, she passes me to a helper and she quickly race for a seat. We were sooo close to winning, if only the helper wasn't so blur and didn't grab hold of the leash fast enough. Sigh.

I was just cracking up watching it from the waiting tent. It was hilarious! Adik nearly fell of the chair so many times and Nala looked so clueless!

As you can tell, I did not win anything, but that's okay :) There's always next year and we all had fun.

*screeching break sound*

That was the fun part. Nope, we haven't went through the worst part yet!

In the waiting tent, there was this very annoying little Shih Tzu who is probably scared of big dogs and was barking to Nala for so bloody long when Nala didn't even do anything to it! And when I joined her, it was barking frantically at ME!

And the worst part? The owner wasn't even trying to shut it up! Oh no, if he ain't doing it, I will. I turned around and gave the little bugger one heck of a bark and it finally shut up.

What else? Oh my dogness, the HEAT! Amber's Hooman M told us about Amber getting heat stroke last year at the Dogathon, so we were really worried we were gonna get it too. We were literally like little buns getting baked in an oven. Even the hoomans were just dying!

We were waiting for the game called Speed-O-Eater that I was supposed to participate in, but the delay was too much and we went home.

And what awaits me home? This...

YUM YUM YUM! I do love me some rawhide bone!

You just wait, boy. When she finally teaches you the balancing trick, you'll suffer as much as I do. Look what awaits ME

Play with the pipes and attempt to kill ourselves. (If we do it often, the pipes will be ruined and the hoomans will replace it with new ones!!)

We could sleep like nobody's business whenever we like

We get to ride in cars..

And go to new places..

and even school!

and we'll invite friends over later and play like there's no tomorrow

and the best part?

Sneaking into the house of course! We can open sliding doors and open doors and welcome ourselves in the house! Yes, there's the occasional screaming and shouting and 'GET OUT's, because we doggies are not actually allowed in the house, but sometimes, they just don't care! When in the house, we can get hugs from the hoomans..

and beg for food..

and get some, of course. Who could resist this face??

Hiya, my butt sniffin' friends! Got some update for you guys. The recovery's doing great. We're having a ball giving the hoomans a hard time. Hehehe.

Robin had diarrhea for a couple of days, and I had blood discharges from my 'ehem' but we're okay! 'Stichees' and 'Lampshade' comes out on Friday and we're free!

Anyway, we wanted to share with you some cool peektures of us fooling around last night. Enjoy!

Oh, yes, some comparison! See when we went to vet for checkup yesterday, the hoomans took my weight and I am now 30 kilograms! So they felt nostalgic and started comparing pictures of me then and now..

The Not So Pawsome Recovery

Woof!! How's everybody doing? Us? Not so good. We would be, if we hadn't been under the knife! Wooo, sound so scary right? Nah. Nothing lah.

On Tuesday, we both went through a life changing experience. Literally. We were neutered and spayed! There goes our legacy.. But we know it's for our own good. The surgery went well, thank dogness. Though, we weren't too keen on staying in the hospital for a night.

I was so sad we had to be separated from our hoomans :( I was too depressed, I didn't even touch the food they've given me. It felt like forever being in that cage. But the minute they walked in, it all went away!

By the way, I had an X-Ray too to check my hip's condition. My left hip is apparently 'loose' or something like that. That's what I heard and I was told to keep taking glucosamine as usual. No problem. I just wanted to go home! I already had it all pictured in my head. Me running free in the yard, digging sand, chewing pebbles, drinking from pond..

Yeah. Not bloody likely. We arrived home to find our playpens already set up in our 'area' and we were forced to stay in there. Hmph. To make matters worse, we had to wear this CRAP!

Don't we just look ridiculous with those on? And it makes it impossible to move without us banging into something!

First night home was pretty gloomy as it was raining that night and we were still in pain but on the bright side, look at what they bought us!

A Good Neighbour!

So all of you might know who Toby is by now. If you don't, then refer to previous blogs. He's our neighbour and my best friend! So after about half and hour of walkie today, we dropped by his house and played for a good half an hour.

Where he kept on trying to hump me! Psshh.. At about 8 p.m, Toby came by with his mommy who brought with her a paper bag that smelt very appetizing. Hmm, wonder what it was..

Trip to the Vet today! You're probably wondering why I'm so excited as most of you are terrified of the vet, but hey. We loooovvee it! After Adik came back from school, she and Along got us in the car and we were on our way to the vet...

My eyes are heavy.. and getting heavieerrr...

While hodling Along's hand.. I'm such a gentleman!

And what have I been doing at the back seat? Being a good girl of course! I don't try to jump onto the front seat like my brother.

When we arrived, the first thing our hoomans did was checked our weights. I gotta say, I lost a few pounds and I weight 25kg now. Adik told me to eat more and stop running around too much because she thinks I'm a little small. But I eat so much, Adik!

As for me, you should refer to the blog title first. That question is what I'm seeking answers to after they took my weight. I am only five months old and I weight 28 kilograms. Along said I'm unbelievably insane and Adik said 'WTF, indeed'. But but I've been eating so little.. I'm just big boned! I ain't no fatso!

Yeah, riiiiiiiggghhhtt, Robin...

Anyway, we had to wait for a couple of minutes before our turn and there was only one other dog there, so it wasn't much fun. Our turn came and our doctor, Dr. Prem said that Robin doesn't have to go on the examination table because he's too big. BOL!

SHUT UP!!

Dr. Prem checked my red spots and he and our hoomans said something about 'spaid' or is it 'spayed'?

Oh yeah, I remember that. God knows what it means. Our hoomans wouldn't tell us! Anyway Dr. Prem said he'll see us next Tuesday for the 'spayed'..

The car ride home was so boring. The car too looked pretty plain, so I did some 'decorating' :D

New Tricks!

Hey pals! Good news. Adik is finally really proud of me because after one year of neglecting her instructions, I finally gave in and actually listened to her. I'm not stoopid, I just like to piss her off and get treats without wasting my energy. Check out my new tricks! They may be basic, but who cares? I get treats for em' ;)

Hehe. It's not the best, but atleast I made my hooman proud :)

Sunday Morning

Happy Sunday, my furry friends! I must say, my Sunday is kicking up with a good start. At 7.30 this morning, Adik took Nala and I on a bike ride. Woohoo!

She made us do our business in the yard before going out because she doesn't wanna pick up after us on our walk. See, we doggies are so lucky to have a big yard for us to run around all day that we don't even need that much exercise! And the yard is mostly covered in grass, so we can do our business where we want to.

And there's THREE ponds filled with fishies and turtles and free flowing water that we love to play with! Our hoomans tell us not to drink from the pond, but we don't care!

Our walk lasted for about an hour and we got to say hello to a few of our neighbouring buddies! It was fun, until we took a pit stop by the lake and Adik made me do a sit-stay and down-stay. Grr, I hate doing these things! I just wanna run around all day!

When we got home, she tied me onto a leash so I wouldn't distract Nala while she was working on Nala's tricks. It was sooo annoying watching Nala get praised and rewarded everytime she stands, catches the treats and leave something that I decided to take a short nap.

And I was showered with pats and hugs and yummy treats for being such a good girl! Ahh, bliss!

Then it was my turn and Nala was tied onto a leash. But Adik gave up since she could hardly make me sit. Of course! I only listen to my master, Along ;) Hmm, I wonder if she is dying because she is being so nice to us. She even gave us some kibbles that she mixed with cheese! Oooh la la!

Ughh, I found it disgusting and made my fat brother eat it instead because before I even had time to leave my bowl, he chowed down all of his!

Hmm, and I heard Adik telling the maid that she wanted to give us a bath. OH could this day get any better?! :D

Whaaaaattt?? NO! I hate bathing! :/

Day out

Oh my dog, what an awesome day we had! Our hoomans were nice enough to take us with them. We went to Mont Kiara and had a blast!

I spent the day in the house with Mommy, Along and Adik in Mommy's room. I helped along wake Adik up by giving her a big sloppy kiss on the mouth. She said my beard is very tickly. I don't know what she's talking about, because I certainly don't have a beard. I'm a girl for god's sakes!

First up. we went to Coffee Bean Mont Kiara

where the hoomans had their meals and we doggies were tied to a pole, wishing we were the one with plates of pasta :/ Of course, when it comes to begging for meals, there is one unbeatable weapon the hoomans just can't resist. The puppy face, that is.

It worked! They gave in right away. Hah! These hoomans can be so foolish at times..

Oooh, FOOD!

Allright, I'll wait for it..

We were so full afterwards that Robin nearly dozed off on Along's thigh!

After their meals, the hoomans wanted to get dessert, so we went to Desserts' Bar right next door. Again, Robin and I were tied to a pole but we don't mind because we get some of their treats! :)

Oh, lookie.. Humans! I shall make my adorable 'I'm so lonely, come and play with me' face now..

SCORE!!

So many fans, so little time. But only I get pecks and hugs! Nala didn't get any..

That's okay. I've got Mommy! HAH!

We went home after that and just hung out in the house and took pictures with Mommy..

And suddenly the bell rang! Who's that?

Yipee! It's Toby!

He came over for a while because our hoomans were talking and talking and talking non-stop about things we doggies couldn't care less about! But we don't mind because that only means more play time! Yayy!

Malaysia Dog Day 2009

Wow, today was so much fun! I didn't know what to expect when we got in the car this morning. I thought it was time for school like yesterday, but I guess I was wrong. Everyone got up quite early today and we left he house at 10.30 human time. The car ride was quite boring because Robin got to sit infront and enjoy the breeze..

And since I'm all grown up, I had to sit at the back. Hmph. He's such a brat!

It took a while for us to find a parking and when we did, it was sooo far away. Walking to the stadium was okay, until..

We had to go up a hill. Along complained I was very slow, but I'm glad everyone understand my situation. Three weeks ago, we discovered I have minor hip dysplasia. It's not so bad, but I can't really jump or run much like Nala.

When we got there, it was chaos! This is the first time we've seen so many furry friends in our entire furry lives. The humans was worried we might get lost because they couldn't tell us apart. There was so many look-a-likes. A few minutes after we've settled down, a tall, dark and handsome guy came in. Hmm, looks familiar..

It's Max! He's our classmate from school.

Yeahh, he's kind of growing on me.. Anyway, he was quite busy getting his pictures taken so he didn't follow me around like yesterday. Like I said, he's tall, dark and handsome, so he's got many fans. Have to admit, I'm kinda jealous :|

I did not get myself dirty today, so I had a lot humans who wants to take pictures with me.

Must be nice, all that attention..

Nahh. I'd rather sleep.. That place is so comfortable especially with the aircond..

Not too long after we've arrived, my buddy Toby did.

Finally, somebody to play with! Max, Nala, Toby and I hung out together and Nala even had her 'moment' with Max..

There was a lot of activities going on. One of them was a demonstration by a bunch of hunky K9 Cops..

And there was a fashion show! I'm not very into clothes (unless it was given for me to chew), and so is my family so it wasn't much fun for us..

There was other activities like musical chair and 'simon says' and agility trials. It was very funny and entertaining!

Suddenly Nala got cranky and wanted to leave. Plus, Along and Adik was terribly hungry, so we said goodbye to Toby and his humans and went home. I was so relieved, because I was dying to sleep in the comfort of our home.

Our humans stopped by Burger King and KFC and got us Mashed Potato! We had a very nice day and we're looking forward to next weekend where we'll go for another doggie event at Mid Valley. Yayy!

Hello everybody! My name is Nala (not Mala or Nara or Tala or Bala or whatever it is people confused my name with) and welcome to my blog! :) Unfortunately, I have to share this blog with my baby brother Robin :( It's not that I hate him or anything, but he's just too annoying! And I don't understand why everybody thinks he's so adorable! Anyway.. I am a Golden Retriever (duhh) and I recently celebrated my very 1st birthday. I've been thinking about starting a blog for a while, but never really got the chance. You will see me writing about my fabulous life/self in this blog! I love my family very much for different reasons. Daddy always takes me for a good run. He can be very strict at times, but I know he loves me. Everybody does! Mummy is the food person. She feeds me very delicious food all the time and I love chewing on her hands because they're so bony. She doesn't mind ;) Along is pretty much my caretaker. It's her day job! Although she likes to boss Adik around with things like bathing me, walking me, feeding me, wash my *toot*, all the nasty stuff she wouldn't do, she aways takes time to surf the internet for exciting activities for me and Robin. Angah is, well, she's Angah. She will take me for walks occasionally, but mostly she just plays with me and entertain me. Adik is the 'do everything' person. Well, everything everyone else won't do. She likes to sneak me into the house every night (shh, don't tell Daddy) and let me watch Animal Planet till we doze off. She even makes me popcorn! I love them all!

He's a five days younger than I am, but almost five years smarter than I am. He's my neighbour and he's like a brother to me. I love to eat.
